BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide — a chain of 15 amino acids — whose sequence derives from a protective protein identified in human gastric juice. In experimental systems, the peptide is studied for its influence on angiogenesis, growth-factor expression and fibroblast migration, processes central to connective-tissue repair. It is one of the most frequently used peptides in preclinical recovery research: published models cover tendon, ligament, muscle and the digestive mucosa, as well as the interplay between the gut–brain axis and local inflammatory processes.
