Semaglutide
Semaglutide is a peptide analogue of the hormone GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) in which two amino-acid substitutions and a C18 fatty-acid chain confer resistance to enzymatic degradation and high albumin affinity. The result is a long-acting molecule at the GLP-1 receptor, used as a benchmark in incretin-signalling studies. In the laboratory, semaglutide is investigated in preclinical models of satiety, gastric emptying and glucose homeostasis, as well as in studies of the hypothalamic circuits that integrate hunger signals. The lyophilized vial is intended for in vitro and animal-model experimental protocols. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
