Cagrilintide
Cagrilintide is a synthetic analogue of amylin, the hormone co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic beta cells. Sequence modifications and lipidation of the chain give it long-term stability and activity at both amylin and calcitonin receptors, which is why it is described as a dual amylin-receptor agonist. In preclinical research, cagrilintide is used to study amylin-mediated satiety signalling in the brainstem, complementary to the GLP-1 pathway, as well as food-intake and body-weight control in animal models. It is frequently investigated in combination with GLP-1 analogues to analyse the additive effects of the two pathways. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
