IGF-1 LR3

IGF-1 LR3 is a modified analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1 in which a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension and an arginine substitution at position 3 drastically reduce affinity for IGF-binding proteins. Because it is no longer sequestered by these proteins, the analogue remains active far longer in experimental systems than native IGF-1. In research, IGF-1 LR3 is a standard cell-culture reagent used in proliferation, differentiation and cell-survival studies, as well as in models of muscle hypertrophy and PI3K/Akt-pathway signalling.
