Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide is a synthetic 39-amino-acid peptide built on the backbone of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), engineered to activate both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors at once. The chain carries a fatty-acid side arm that extends its stability in experimental media, and this dual agonism makes it a valuable tool for studying convergent incretin signalling. In preclinical research, tirzepatide is used in models of glycaemic regulation, appetite control and energy balance, where it allows single-receptor activation to be compared directly with dual activation. Laboratories also study it in the context of lipid metabolism and pancreatic beta-cell function. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
