PEG-MGF

PEG-MGF is the PEGylated form of mechano growth factor (MGF), a splice variant of the IGF-1 gene expressed in muscle in response to mechanical overload. Attaching the polyethylene-glycol chain protects the peptide from rapid degradation and prolongs its presence in experimental media, while preserving the E-domain sequence responsible for its distinct activity. In preclinical research, PEG-MGF is used in studies of satellite-cell activation — the precursors of muscle-fibre regeneration — and of the muscle's local response to mechanical stimulus. It is also of interest in experimental models of muscle-tissue repair and IGF-1 splicing biology. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
